Philharmonia Group backs founders building the infrastructure of a cleaner, greener, and kinder economy — from connected devices and household energy to the materials of the quantum age.
Get in touchLike an orchestra, a great company is many talented parts made to play as one. We take board seats, work alongside management on strategy and business development, and stay with our companies through every movement — not just the opening bars.
We lead and structure investments, sit on boards, and bring hands-on operating support — fundraising, partnerships, and go-to-market — to the companies we back.
We allocate capital alongside aligned co-investors and funds across Asia, building a network of partners who share a long-term view of value.
We invest where deep technology meets real-world need — businesses whose growth and positive impact rise together.
Low-power IoT networks and data platforms that let cities, supply chains, and utilities see and manage what they could not before.
Technology that cuts energy waste and cost — with a particular commitment to the households and communities who need savings most.
The upstream materials that next-generation computing, sensing, and communications depend on — foundational layers of tomorrow's industries.
Cleaner. Greener. Kinder.
We believe the most durable returns come from companies that leave the world better than they found it. Every investment we make is measured against that standard — alongside, never instead of, commercial discipline.

Darrell Ang founded Philharmonia Group in 2023 to bring a conductor’s discipline to building companies: listening closely, aligning talented people around a shared vision, and shaping the whole into something greater than its parts.
Over two decades on the podium, with permanent posts in France, China, Russia, and Singapore, Darrell has also built institutions and raised the capital to sustain them. As Music Director of the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne, he helped secure new government and corporate funding—as well as develop its fledgling audience—to bring sustainability to the orchestra at a crucial juncture in its existence. At the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra in China (where he is now Conductor Laureate), he rebuilt the institution, forged partnerships with major Chinese corporations, and raised it from the bottom percentile to China’s top national rankings.
Fundraising sits at the heart of his social-impact work. He has created scholarship funds for young musicians in Singapore, led the Singapore International Festival of Music and its outreach into special-education schools, brought Manila’s street children into the concert hall with Childhope Philippines, and launched a concert series for endangered wildlife with advisers from Wildlife Reserves Singapore and Greenpeace.
A GRAMMY-nominated conductor and the recipient of a French knighthood of Arts & Letters, Darrell is also an entrepreneur and investor, serving on the boards of companies in IoT infrastructure and climate technology, including one he co-founded. A graduate of Yale University, he will receive a Master’s in Global Finance (HKUST-NYU Stern) and a Master’s in Asset & Wealth Management (Nanyang Technological University) next year.
PKPhillip brings more than two decades of experience in corporate finance and financial engineering across Asia and the United States. He is Chairman of Varcis Group, an investment and research firm focused on sports and health technology in Asia, and an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation. He holds degrees from Santa Clara University and the University of San Francisco.
CCCarey brings close to three decades of experience in the financial industry, which he entered in 1994. He was previously a Managing Director in J.P. Morgan's wealth management business in Hong Kong, and is now a Partner at Deerfield Partners, a platform that supports emerging fund managers and entrepreneurs worldwide across healthcare, sustainability, credit, and digital consumerism. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University.
